Tribute & Message From The Family

Kenneth James Leyden Sr., of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania passed away on Tuesday October 6 , 2020 at the age of 76. Ken is survived by the love of his life, Gail (nee Appell) with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Ken is survived by his devoted son Zachary Leyden (and his partner Amy Johnson). Ken was the loving brother of the late Janet and Linda Leyden.

Ken was born and raised in Philadelphia. On the corner of Lawrence and Indiana, Ken made many lifelong friends-Danny, Jim and Skeeter, to name a few.
Ken went on to join the Army in 1965 and served in the Army reserves until his honorable discharge in 1971. Ken was a Typographer. He enjoyed a highly
successful career with PHP Typography during the 80's until the onset of desktop publishing, at which time he created his own company, Leyden Diversified in
1991. Ken enjoyed his part time job at Givnish Funeral Home. He always felt the love and respect of all his coworkers.

Ken loved life and always had a story to tell. He will be missed by us all.

Due to current circumstances and the inability to throw the celebration that Ken truly deserves, we are postponing his life celebration until early next September.
Details will follow at a later date. We all have a funny story to tell about Ken. Please write it down so we all can share.

Memorial donations in Ken's memory to the Abington Township Public Library, 1030 Old York Rd., Abington, PA 19001 would be greatly appreciated by the family. To share your fondest memories of Ken, Please visit www.lifecelebration.com

Condolence & Memory Journal

Gail & Zak; Although we grew up blocks apart, we didn't meet until later in life when we became neighbors and great friends. 42 years have passed since then. Ken became the brother I never had and I loved him dearly. We enjoyed our times together and always had a good laugh whether in person or on the phone. I always looked forward to hearing one of his new stories. Ken will be missed. I am heartbroken. He has a special place in my heart and will forever be remembered and loved. Tom & Michele

Gail and family, on behalf of DVHT Health Center we send our deepest condolences. We truly enjoyed Ken's visits and his stories he would regale us with. He had a kind heart of gold and anyone who knew him was better person because of it. He will be sorely missed. With Love, Dr. Schachter, Dr. Limberakis, Leigh Ann, and Nicole.

Gail and family, first, we're just so sorry. Second, having visited with you and Ken a few times in the past we'd say Ken never met a stranger. His stories, for us, were so enjoyable and fun to listen to. Please take care of yourselves since that's what he would want. Love, Jackie and Rick
